Types of video marketing

“Video marketing” is not a genre. It is a list of jobs. Below are the types we actually produce in Connecticut — each with a film you can watch — so you can hire the right one instead of asking for “content.”

Commercial · Social cut · Owner story · Brand film · Event recap · Campaign spot

The list

Six types. One studio. Pick the job.

How to choose

If you cannot say where it runs, do not shoot it yet

The type follows the placement. A Meta campaign wants short, captioned, vertical cuts. A homepage wants a brand film someone might finish. A ribbon cutting wants a recap before the comments cool off. We decide that on the brief, then we shoot for those frames — which is why post and social live in the same building at 158 Main Street.

If an agency already owns the media plan, we still make the assets. If you have no plan, say so. Selling you six types of video you cannot run is how studios stay busy and clients stay invisible.

Questions

Before you hire

What type of video marketing works for a local business?

Usually a short hero plus several social cuts of the same shoot. One pretty brand film with nowhere to run it is a trophy. Ads need versions.

Is video marketing the same as a social media agency?

No. Marketing is the job (offer, audience, placement). Video is the asset. We do both when the brief says so. See the Connecticut social media page if you need the campaigns too.

Do we need all of these types?

No. Pick the one that matches how you sell this quarter. A restaurant does not need a political spot. A candidate does not need a birria close-up. That is the whole list.

If you are not sure, say what a new customer is worth and where you already advertise. We will pick the form — or tell you this is not a video problem.
